Pakistan Closes Border with Iran Amid Escalating Tensions with Israel

Border Closure Amid Conflict
In response to the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, which has intensified since June 13, Pakistan has decided to close its borders along the Iranian frontier. Both nations are currently engaged in a series of missile exchanges, targeting significant military installations.
Suspension of Border Facilities
As reported by a news agency, officials have confirmed the suspension of border operations in several districts, including Chaghi, Washuk, Panjgur, Kech, and Gwadar. Qadir Bakhsh Pirkani, a senior official from Balochistan, stated, "All border facilities in these five districts have been halted."
Trade Activities Unaffected
This action appears to be a precautionary measure. However, Pakistan has expressed its solidarity with Iran, emphasizing that only Pakistani students will be allowed to cross the border, while trade activities remain unaffected.
Clarification on Nuclear Threats
Recently, Pakistan clarified that it had not made any statements regarding the potential use of nuclear weapons against Israel in the event of an attack on Iran. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar addressed the National Assembly, labeling such claims as "irresponsible."
Efforts for Dialogue
In an interview with a Pakistani media outlet, Dar mentioned that he is actively seeking to resolve the ongoing tensions through dialogue and is maintaining communication with other Muslim nations regarding the Iran-Israel conflict. Meanwhile, Iran has welcomed Pakistan's statements following claims from its commander about a possible attack on Israel.
