Concerns Over Regional Stability

On Sunday, officials from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia voiced their worries regarding the escalating tensions in the region, particularly due to the recent clashes between the United States and Iran, which pose a threat to the delicate peace in West Asia.

In a phone call, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan reviewed the latest developments and expressed their serious concerns about the situation, as reported by the Pakistan Foreign Office.

Dar, who also serves as Pakistan's foreign minister, reaffirmed the country's commitment to fostering peace in the region, in line with the memorandum of understanding (MoU) established between the US and Iran.

This MoU, signed on June 18, aims to restore stability in West Asia and was followed by technical discussions in Switzerland on June 21, with Pakistan and Qatar acting as mediators.

Prince Faisal indicated his intention to visit Pakistan soon, according to the Foreign Office.

Additionally, Dar extended his condolences regarding a helicopter crash in Saudi Arabia on Sunday that claimed 14 lives. The helicopter was owned by Aramco, which is predominantly owned by the Saudi government.
