Pakistan and China Forge Stronger Ties: A New Era of Cooperation

Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Islamabad: Pakistan and China have reached a significant agreement to enhance their bilateral relationship by focusing on immigration, border management, and institutional collaboration.

A delegation from China's National Immigration Administration, led by Director General Qi Jingyang, met with Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Friday to discuss various bilateral issues.

The meeting also included Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry.

This new agreement is designed to improve the effectiveness of joint efforts against illegal immigration, arms trafficking, and cross-border criminal activities, as stated by the interior ministry.

Both nations are set to finalize an agreement shortly to streamline the immigration process, and a joint working group on border management and security between Pakistan and China will be formed.

Interior Minister Naqvi emphasized that cooperation with China regarding land borders, seaports, and immigration management will be significantly enhanced.

"The government of Pakistan is committed to a zero-tolerance approach towards illegal immigration, border violations, and smuggling," he stated.

Director General Qi Jingyang reaffirmed that China and Pakistan are strategic allies and expressed China's desire to further bolster cooperation with Pakistan.

"China will continue to assist in building the capacity of Pakistani institutions," he added.
