Kabak's Journey in Film
Kabak's journey in the film industry began with his role as Jomin in the Varun Dhawan film Bhediya, which earned him a Filmfare nomination for Best Male Debut. Following that, he worked on Homi Adjania’s Murder Mubarak.
In addition to acting, Kabak has been dedicated to nurturing local talent through theatre workshops in his hometown of Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. Despite the limited theatre scene in the state, his efforts through the Kamsa Dramatics Society aim to create opportunities for young aspiring actors.
Early Life and Influences
Kabak completed his schooling in Arunachal Pradesh before moving to Delhi for higher education, initially without plans to pursue acting. He attributes some of his artistic inclination to his mother, who, despite being from the Nyishi tribe, grew up in Assam and participated in folk theatre.
It wasn't until his university days that he discovered his passion for theatre, which helped him overcome a challenging period of self-doubt and isolation. He began attending plays and art galleries, which reignited his interest in performing arts.
Joining The Family Man Team
After completing his training at NSD, Kabak successfully auditioned for Bhediya and later for The Family Man 3. He describes the production environment as professional yet warm, allowing him to fully immerse himself in his character.
In his role as Stephen Khuzou, a rebel leader, Kabak conducted extensive research to authentically portray the character, drawing from various sources and personal conversations with former rebel leaders.
Collaboration with Manoj Bajpayee
A significant highlight for Kabak was sharing screen time with Manoj Bajpayee, a long-time aspiration of his. He recalls attending a workshop led by Bajpayee at NSD and describes the experience as invaluable, noting Bajpayee's humility and warmth on set.
The Changing Landscape of OTT
Kabak believes that the rise of OTT platforms has been transformative for actors from the North-East, as creators are increasingly interested in stories from the region. He emphasizes the untapped potential of the North-East's rich narratives, which offer a unique perspective that resonates with audiences.
While acknowledging that actors from the region are often cast in specific roles, Kabak remains optimistic about breaking these boundaries through consistent quality work.

Currently, Kabak is actively involved with Kamsa Dramatics Society and has several projects lined up. He expresses a desire to venture into filmmaking in the future, stating, "I will continue to pursue art passionately, and if I ever feel disillusioned, I might just retreat into nature."
