Owaisi Urges Modi to Act Against War Amid US-Iran Tensions

Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of AIMIM, expressed his apprehensions regarding President Donald Trump's address on April 2, which discussed military actions related to Iran. He urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intensify efforts to prevent war, highlighting the difficulties faced by Indians residing in Gulf countries due to the Israel-Iran conflict.

Owaisi remarked that Trump's military intervention could complicate matters further for India, stating, "It has become increasingly difficult to obtain commercial gas... Many Indian citizens work in GCC countries, and this situation is alarming. We still hope that Prime Minister Modi will advocate for an end to the war, as it is crucial." He also criticized the move towards a Uniform Civil Code (UCC), labeling it unconstitutional and contrary to the principles of the Indian Constitution.

He emphasized that freedom of religion is a fundamental right under the Constitution, which also guarantees freedom of thought, equality, and justice. Owaisi condemned the imposition of a Hindu Code Bill under the guise of UCC, calling it wrong and unconstitutional. His comments followed Trump's address after recent hostilities with Iran, where the President praised decisive actions against the Islamic Republic, claiming that the main objectives of the campaign were nearing completion.

Trump asserted that Iran's maritime and aerial capabilities have been systematically dismantled, significantly weakening its military infrastructure. He claimed that Iran's navy has been destroyed, its air force is devastated, and many of its leaders, mostly terrorists, have been killed. He elaborated on the impacts of these attacks, stating that the opposition's missile and drone launch capabilities have been severely diminished. Furthermore, he noted that weapon factories and rocket launchers have been largely destroyed, emphasizing that the United States is achieving "greater victories than ever before."
