Owaisi Rejects Alliance Talks
Asaduddin Owaisi, the president of AIMIM, firmly rejected the possibility of forming an alliance with the India Block ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Speaking at a public event, he emphasized that joining the Congress-led opposition coalition was out of the question and reiterated his support for establishing a third front in the state.
According to reports, Owaisi stated that unilateral affection would not suffice, urging the people of Bihar to recognize that the allegations against them are based on falsehoods. He accused rival political parties of attempting to suppress marginalized voices and asserted that they do not want any leader to emerge from the poor and oppressed communities.
Owaisi claimed that his political adversaries wish for the people of Bihar to remain subservient, stating, 'They want the people of Bihar to be their slaves... We will contest the elections vigorously.'
Supporting the idea of a political alternative to both the BJP-led NDA and the India Block, the Hyderabad MP expressed that AIMIM is in favor of creating a third front in Bihar. He mentioned that Akhtarul Iman, the president of their Bihar unit, has advocated for efforts to establish this third front. 'This was our initiative, and now everything is before the people of Bihar,' he added. Earlier this month, Akhtarul Iman, AIMIM's sole MLA in Bihar, had written to RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, requesting to join the Grand Alliance, which currently includes RJD, Congress, and leftist parties.
