Meeting of Opposition Leaders in New Delhi
A gathering of opposition leaders took place at the Constitution Club in New Delhi under the banner of the India Alliance. The primary aim of this meeting was to reach a consensus on demanding a special session of Parliament to address significant national issues. Following the meeting, Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav expressed concerns about the lack of international support for India, stating that no country has come forward to back India, which he finds alarming. He emphasized that this reflects a failure on the diplomatic front, especially after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire.

The Samajwadi Party leader noted that the public perceives the ceasefire as something imposed upon India. He remarked that the global respect for the nation has diminished following Trump's announcement. Sanjay Raut, an MP from Shiv Sena (UBT), mentioned that a letter signed by 16 political parties has been sent to the Prime Minister, emphasizing that this is not just an ordinary letter. He stated that the opposition represents the voice of the people and is calling for a special session to discuss the events that have transpired in the country.
Raut questioned why a special session could not be convened despite repeated requests from the opposition, especially if the ceasefire was called upon Trump's suggestion. He provocatively asked if they should approach Trump for a special session. RJD MP Manoj Jha added that Trump has made 13 statements in 15 days, which have hurt India's sentiments. He asserted that if Parliament is convened for this issue, the opposition will speak with one voice, highlighting that this is a matter of accountability, not just a government-opposition issue.

When asked about the absence of the Aam Aadmi Party from the list of parties that wrote to the Prime Minister, TMC MP Derek O'Brien stated that they believe the AAP would have submitted a letter by 6 PM the previous evening, echoing the same sentiments and demands for a special session. Regarding the absence of NCP and SCP from the letter, Raut reassured that Sharad Pawar is aligned with them and mentioned that he would discuss this with Pawar upon returning to Mumbai.
