Opposition Leader Criticizes Rajasthan Government Over Treatment of Special Needs Students

Concerns Raised Over Special Needs Education in Rajasthan

Jaipur, August 5 - In a recent statement, Tika Ram Julie, the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly, criticized the BJP government for its insensitivity towards the issues faced by students at the Government Seth Anandilal Poddar School for the Deaf and Mute in Jaipur. Students staged a protest outside the school to voice their various demands. Upon learning of the demonstration, Julie, along with Congress Chief Whip Rafiq Khan and MLA Amit Chachan, visited the protest site to engage with the students.

Julie also held discussions with the school's staff regarding the students' concerns. He expressed that it is a disgrace for the BJP government that students have once again been forced to take to the streets to advocate for their rights and issues. He alleged that students are being compelled to study in dilapidated and unsafe classrooms.

Furthermore, he pointed out that untrained teachers have been appointed to educate hearing-impaired children, jeopardizing the students' futures. He emphasized that the silence of those who cannot express themselves is now echoing against the government's indifference on the streets of the capital. Julie remarked that forcing these innocent children to protest instead of allowing them to sit in classrooms is not only a failure of administration but also a peak of inhumanity and cruelty.

He concluded by stating that depriving differently-abled children of their rights and doing injustice to their future is unacceptable under any circumstances.
