Opposition Alliance to March Against Voter Fraud in Bihar

The opposition coalition INDIA is set to march from Parliament to the Election Commission in Bihar to protest alleged voter list manipulation. Led by Rahul Gandhi, this demonstration aims to highlight claims of 'vote theft' following his revelations about discrepancies in the voter list. The march, scheduled for 11:30 AM, will involve leaders from both houses of the opposition and other MPs. Gandhi's allegations suggest that over 100,000 votes were manipulated to benefit the BJP in the Mahadevapura assembly constituency, raising significant concerns about electoral integrity. This protest marks a pivotal moment for the opposition as they rally against perceived injustices in the electoral process.

Opposition's March to the Election Commission

The opposition coalition known as INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) plans to stage a march from the Parliament building to the Election Commission headquarters in Bihar on Monday. This demonstration aims to address the special revision of the voter list (SIR) and allegations of 'vote theft.'

The Congress party has announced that this march, led by Rahul Gandhi, will see participation from leaders of both houses of the opposition and several other MPs. The event is scheduled to commence at 11:30 AM.

This protest marks the first organized response from opposition parties following Rahul Gandhi's claims of irregularities in the voter list. On August 7, he presented data from the Mahadevapura assembly constituency in Bengaluru, alleging that a model of 'vote theft' was implemented to benefit the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) through manipulation of the voter list.

During a press conference in Delhi, Rahul Gandhi revealed figures from the voter list of the Mahadevapura assembly constituency. He accused that approximately 100,250 votes were stolen in this area, despite the BJP winning the previous Lok Sabha election by a margin of 32,707 votes.
