Successful Reunification Efforts by Delhi Police

New Delhi, July 2: The South-West District Police have made significant strides in reuniting 193 individuals, which includes 48 children and 145 adults, with their families as part of 'Operation Milap' from June 1 to June 30.

As reported by the Delhi Police, this initiative has been instrumental in alleviating the distress of numerous families by locating missing persons and ensuring their safe return. In the first half of 2026, from January 1 to June 30, a total of 866 individuals were recovered, comprising 226 minors and 640 adults.

Upon receiving reports of missing or abducted individuals, the police promptly initiated dedicated search operations through the relevant police stations.

Extensive local inquiries were conducted, and CCTV footage was scrutinized to track the movements of the missing individuals. Photographs of those missing were displayed at auto-rickshaw stands, e-rickshaw stands, bus terminals, and railway stations to solicit public assistance.

Police teams also engaged with bus drivers, conductors, and local vendors to gather information regarding the whereabouts of the missing persons. Local informants played a crucial role in the search efforts, and records from nearby police stations and hospitals were meticulously reviewed for potential leads.

Thanks to these swift and coordinated actions, the South-West District Police successfully traced 193 missing individuals, including 48 children and 145 adults, during the month of June. The recovered individuals were joyfully reunited with their families, showcasing the commitment and professionalism of the police teams.

Detailing the operations conducted, the police noted that the Vasant Vihar Police Station successfully traced 10 missing adults, consisting of four males and six females, all of whom were reunited with their families.

The R.K. Puram Police Station located two missing or kidnapped minors, one boy and one girl aged between one and 18 years, and also recovered three missing adults, including one male and two females. All five individuals were returned to their families.

Police Station South Campus traced six missing females, while Vasant Kunj North recovered two kidnapped minor girls and four missing adults, including one male and three females.

Additionally, Vasant Kunj South Police Station recovered six kidnapped minors, comprising one boy and five girls, and traced nine missing adults, including two males and seven females.

In a similar vein, the Kapashera Police Station located seven kidnapped minors, one boy and six girls, along with 10 missing adults, consisting of six males and four females.

Palam Village Police Station recovered six kidnapped minors, including two boys and four girls, and traced 11 missing adults, comprising seven males and four females.

Police Station Sagarpur traced 15 missing adults, including seven males and eight females, while Delhi Cantt Police Station recovered seven missing adults, comprising three males and four females.

The Sarojini Nagar Police Station traced two kidnapped minors, one boy and one girl, and also recovered two missing adult males.

Police Station S.J. Enclave recovered six missing adults, including four males and two females, while Kishangarh traced five kidnapped minors, one boy and four girls, along with five missing adults, comprising one male and four females.

The Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the South-West District played a pivotal role by tracing 18 kidnapped minors, including six boys and 12 girls, all of whom were safely reunited with their families.

The District Missing Persons Unit (DMPU) also made a significant contribution by tracing 57 missing adults, including 18 males and 39 females, all of whom were safely returned to their families.

Furthermore, the police indicated that during the operations from June 1 to June 30, several missing persons and kidnapped children from previous years were also located.

The breakdown of recovered individuals shows that one female missing since 2019 was traced, along with two females missing since 2021. Additionally, three adults from cases registered in 2022 were recovered, including two males and one female.

Moreover, 16 individuals reported missing in 2023 were traced, including one minor girl and 15 adults, comprising seven males and eight females. The operations also led to the recovery of 20 adults from 2024, including five males and 15 females.

Lastly, 34 individuals reported missing in 2025 were traced, including two minor girls and 32 adults, comprising 11 males and 21 females.
