Operation Milap: 118 Missing Persons Reunited with Families in Delhi
Successful Humanitarian Efforts in Delhi
New Delhi, March 3: In a significant humanitarian effort dubbed 'Operation Milap,' the South-West District Police have successfully located and reunited 118 individuals, including 31 children who were either missing or abducted, with their families from February 1 to February 28, as reported by the Delhi Police on Tuesday.
Authorities highlighted the exceptional commitment and empathy demonstrated by the district police in their mission to find missing persons and facilitate their safe return.
In the initial two months of 2026 (from January 1 to February 28), a total of 193 individuals, comprising 59 minors and 134 adults, were located and brought back to their families.
The South-West District Police initiated search operations promptly upon receiving reports of missing or kidnapped individuals.
Thorough local inquiries were instrumental in tracing these individuals. Police teams reviewed CCTV footage and disseminated images of the missing persons at various locations, including auto stands, e-rickshaw stations, bus terminals, and railway stations.
Investigations involved discussions with bus drivers, conductors, and local vendors to track the movements of the missing. Local informants were also utilized, and records from nearby police stations and hospitals were meticulously examined.
Thanks to these coordinated efforts, several police stations within the South-West District achieved notable success.
The Vasant Vihar Police Station successfully traced nine missing individuals (two males and seven females).
At R.K. Puram Police Station, one missing boy and six individuals (two males and four females) were located.
South Campus Police Station found two minor girls and one missing male.
Vasant Kunj North Police Station traced two minor girls and seven adults (one male and six females).
Vasant Kunj South Police Station located three minor children (one boy and two girls) and six adults (one male and five females).
Kapashera Police Station traced nine children (one boy and eight girls) along with 15 adults (five males and ten females).
Palam Village Police Station found six children (one boy and five girls) and 11 adults (six males and five females).
Sagarpur Police Station traced five minor girls and 11 adults (four males and seven females).
Delhi Cantt Police Station located one missing female.
Sarojini Nagar Police Station traced four missing individuals (one male and three females).
S.J. Enclave Police Station found one minor girl and 13 adults (10 males and three females).
Kishangarh Police Station traced two minor girls and three adults (one male and two females).
All recovered individuals were safely reunited with their families.
Through Operation Milap, the South-West District Police have reaffirmed their dedication to public service and community welfare. The methodical investigations, prompt responses, and compassionate approach of the teams have provided immense relief and hope to many families.
