Shri Madmaheshwar Temple Opens Its Doors
The doors of the revered Shri Madmaheshwar Temple, one of the Panch Kedar shrines located in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand, were opened today. The auspicious ceremony took place at 11:30 AM during the Kark Lagna, marked by the chanting of 'Om Namah Shivaya'. Over three hundred pilgrims and local devotees gathered to witness this significant event, which was adorned with floral decorations.
The rituals for the door opening commenced at 10:30 AM with a special worship ceremony. During this time, the idol of Lord Madmaheshwar was brought to the temple premises. Following the opening of the doors, the priest adorned the self-manifested Shiva Lingam of Lord Madmaheshwar. Initially, devotees were allowed to have a Nirvana Darshan, followed by a Darshan of the adorned deity. Prior to this, the idol inspected the offerings and utensils.
Expectations of High Pilgrim Attendance
On this occasion, the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee has made extensive preparations for the pilgrimage. Hemant Dwivedi, the president of the committee, extended his best wishes to all devotees attending the opening of the doors of Shri Madmaheshwar. He expressed hope for a large turnout of pilgrims eager to seek blessings at the temple. Other committee members, including Vice President Rishi Prasad Sati and CEO Vijay Prasad Thapliyal, also expressed their joy over the temple's opening.
According to Dr. Harish Gaur, the media spokesperson for the committee, the idol of Shri Madmaheshwar was brought from the Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath and was installed in the temple complex on Sunday. The idol made its first stop at Rakeshwari Temple in Ransi on Monday and then reached the second stop at Goundar on Tuesday. This morning, the idol finally arrived at Shri Madmaheshwar Temple.

During the opening of the doors of Shri Madmaheshwar, several dignitaries were present, including Panch Gondari representatives, former committee member Shiv Singh Rawat, Vedic scholar Arun Nautiyal, manager Prakash Purohit, and others involved in the procession from Goundar village.
