Violence Continues in Manipur
The cycle of violence in Manipur shows no signs of abating. On Saturday, suspected militants ambushed a convoy of civilian vehicles in Ukhrul district. This incident occurred near the TM Kasom village in the Litang police station area. Tragically, two individuals were shot dead during the attack. The deceased have been identified as Chinaoshang Shokwungnao, a retired military personnel from Tashar village, and Yaruingam Washum from Kharasom village. Currently, Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam and the Chief Minister are closely monitoring the situation, while security forces have initiated a search operation in the area to apprehend the attackers.
Rising Tensions Among Communities
Following this unfortunate event, a blame game has erupted between various groups. The Tangkhul Naga Long executive committee has held the Kuki groups responsible for the attack and has strongly condemned the incident. Conversely, the Kuki Council has completely denied any involvement of their community in these killings.
