Power Outages in Tehran Amid Ongoing Conflict

Attacks from the United States and Israel on Iran continue unabated. On the 30th day of this conflict, power outages were reported in Tehran following Israeli strikes. According to Abbas Alibadi, Iran's Deputy Energy Minister, the power grid in the Alborz province has suffered damage due to these attacks, leading to outages in several areas of Tehran and Karaj. However, Alibadi assured that electricity supply would be restored soon and that the situation is under control. Additionally, a heavy water production facility located in Khondas has also been targeted. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed this information, stating on the social media platform X that based on satellite image analysis and plant data, the IAEA has verified the damage to the heavy water production facility. Iran had reported on March 27 that the plant had sustained significant damage and is no longer operational.

Iran's Resilience and Military Response

The facility in question does not contain any declared nuclear materials, indicating that the US and Israel are attempting to exert pressure on Iran by targeting basic services like water and electricity. Despite these challenges, Iran remains defiant and is actively retaliating. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has stated that operations against US and Israeli-linked sites will continue in response to attacks on the country's infrastructure. According to IRGC Aerospace Commander Syed Majid Mousavi, they have already targeted a chemical industry, a refinery, two steel complexes, and two aluminum mega complexes. Amidst these developments, US President Donald Trump has threatened ground operations in Iran.

US Military Movements in the Region

Furthermore, a US ship carrying 3,500 soldiers has arrived in the West Asia war zone. In response to Trump's threats of ground operations or occupation in any part of Iranian territory, Ibrahim Zulfaqari, spokesperson for the IRGC's Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters, stated that Islamic warriors have long awaited such actions to demonstrate that the consequences of invasion and occupation lead only to humiliation, imprisonment, and disappearance of the aggressors. Zulfaqari also remarked that the President of the United States is known as the most deceitful president in the world.
