Odisha's Subhadra Yojana: Third Instalment Set for Release on Raksha Bandhan
Empowering Women in Odisha
Bhubaneswar: On Sunday, Odisha's Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida revealed that the third instalment of the Subhadra Yojana will be disbursed on Raksha Bandhan, which falls on August 9.
During a public gathering in Konark, Parida emphasized the government's dedication to uplifting women through ongoing financial assistance.
She mentioned that this phase of distribution will also encompass approximately 1.88 lakh beneficiaries who were previously overlooked, with their inclusion occurring gradually. Those deemed eligible by August 9 will be part of this rollout.
Parida specified that the scheme is exclusively for women whose annual income is below Rs 2.5 lakh and who do not file income tax returns. "Individuals earning above this limit or who submit tax returns will not qualify," she stated.
The Deputy CM also highlighted the government's initiative to ensure that Subhadra funds reach beneficiaries at their doorsteps, even in remote locations like Kotia, through a comprehensive door-to-door survey.
"I will personally oversee the enrolment process for the Subhadra Yojana in Kotia," she added.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is expected to distribute the instalment at a public function in Jeypore, Koraput, on August 9, according to Parida.
