Review Meeting on Odisha Right to Public Services Act


Bhubaneswar: A significant review meeting involving Nodal Officers from 32 departments took place at the State Convention Centre in Lok Seva Bhawan on Saturday, focusing on the implementation of the Odisha Right to Public Services Act (ORTPSA), 2012.


The session was organized by the Centre for Modernising Government Initiative (CMGI) and led by its executive director, Vineet Bhardwaj.


Key topics included an assessment of service applications submitted under ORTPSA from April 2024 to May 2, 2025, the integration of services with the Central Monitoring System (CMS) Dashboard, the issuance of acknowledgment receipts, and potential changes to the services covered by the Act.


Bhardwaj emphasized that effective inter-departmental collaboration and a strong digital framework are essential for delivering timely, transparent, and accountable services to the public. Representatives from NIC, OCAC, and CMGI shared their action plans aimed at enhancing service delivery.


The discussions also highlighted the need for developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the services outlined in the Act, along with training initiatives by the Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, SIRD&PR, and awareness campaigns led by NSS in collaboration with the Higher Education department.
