In the recent ICSE and ISC examinations in Odisha, girls have once again demonstrated their academic superiority over boys. With impressive pass percentages and top scorers emerging from various schools, the results reflect the state's educational strength. Notably, Sandeep Agarwal from St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School achieved the highest score in ISC, while joint toppers in ICSE scored an outstanding 99.4%. Outstanding Performance in Odisha's ICSE and ISC Exams


Bhubaneswar: In a remarkable display of academic excellence, girls have once again outperformed boys in the ICSE (Class X) and ISC (Class XII) examinations in Odisha, as announced by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) on Wednesday.


This year, 8,968 students, comprising 4,653 boys and 4,315 girls from 96 schools across the state, participated in the ICSE examination. The overall pass rate was an impressive 97.80%, showcasing the educational prowess of Odisha. Girls achieved a pass rate of 98.22%, surpassing the boys' rate of 97.42%.


The top scorers from Odisha in the ICSE examination included Srujjan Kumar Barma from De Paul School in Berhampur, Samanta Kanishka Dhal from Chinmaya School in Rourkela, and Debabrata Panda from St. Paul’s School in Rourkela, all achieving a remarkable 99.4%.


In the ISC examination, 1,628 students, including 853 boys and 775 girls from 35 schools, took part. The overall pass percentage was 98.99%, with girls again leading the way at 99.10%, compared to boys at 98.71%.


The top performer in the ISC this year was Sandeep Agarwal (Science) from St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School in Jharsuguda, who scored an impressive 99.75%.


At Loyola School in Bhubaneswar, Aadit Samal was the ICSE school topper with a score of 99%, followed closely by Aaryan Sar with 98.8%.


In the ISC category, the school toppers included Sanjay Samuel Nayak (93.25% in Science), Sanskruti Routray (90.5% in Commerce), and Ranya Thakur (96.75% in Arts).


Additionally, Maittraya Abhilasha Pattnaik topped the ICSE exam at Stewart School with 99%, while Deeptanshu Pal achieved 97.3% in the Science stream.
