A Year of Integrity: Odisha's Governance Under CM Majhi


In Bhubaneswar, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi of Odisha proudly stated that his administration has not faced any corruption allegations as it approaches its first anniversary on June 12. He emphasized that the government has earned the reputation of being a 'people's government' due to its strong engagement with citizens.


During a joint meeting with BJP MPs, MLAs, and Speaker Surama Padhy, Majhi expressed gratitude to his cabinet for maintaining this integrity. He remarked, "I can confidently say that no opposition party has raised any corruption claims against us this year. I appreciate my ministerial team for this achievement."


Majhi highlighted the importance of public engagement, noting that he has personally interacted with 12,000 individuals through 11 public hearing events, addressing their concerns directly. He has also toured all 30 districts, participating in community events to share in the joys and challenges of the people.


Looking ahead, the Chief Minister plans to visit all 147 assembly constituencies in the upcoming year. He stressed that eliminating corruption is vital for the effective execution of welfare programs, stating that every level of governance is under scrutiny.


He mentioned the recent arrest of a senior engineer for corruption, asserting that his government will not permit corrupt officials to retire without accountability. Majhi concluded by outlining his vision for 'Prosperous Odisha 2036', aiming for the state's economy to reach USD 500 billion by 2036 and USD 1.5 trillion by 2047, acknowledging the challenges that lie ahead.
