Odisha's Chief Minister Unveils Shabari Bhawan: A New Home for Tribal Visitors

Bhubaneswar: On Thursday, Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi officially opened Shabari Bhawan, a newly established short-stay facility aimed at accommodating tribal individuals in the state capital.
During the inauguration, Majhi emphasized that this center will provide essential lodging for tribal visitors, particularly those from regions like Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, and Malkangiri, ensuring they experience comfort and dignity.
Demonstrating his commitment to the tribal community's welfare, he announced a financial allocation of Rs 2 crore to enhance the facility, which has been developed by the Shabari Sanskrutika Parishad.
The bhawan is envisioned to serve as a venue for various events, including conferences, training sessions, art exhibitions, and research initiatives, thereby promoting cultural richness.
Majhi expressed, "Tribal individuals coming to this center will feel welcomed, and their journey towards education, healthcare, employment, and overall progress will commence here."
Additionally, he mentioned that plans are underway to establish a Tribal Culture and Heritage Bhawan along with a Tribal Language Institute in the capital.
The Chief Minister highlighted the state's goal of achieving holistic development by the year 2036.
He remarked, "With 24 percent of Odisha's population being tribal, they will significantly contribute to the state's overall advancement."
