Odisha Vigilance Uncovers Wealth of Government Engineer in Major Raids

Bhubaneswar: On Thursday, the Odisha Vigilance Department executed coordinated raids across six locations in three districts targeting a government engineer as part of an investigation into alleged disproportionate assets, according to official sources.
The search operations focused on the properties of an Assistant Executive Engineer (AAE) from the Roads and Buildings (R&B) department in Titlagarh, prompted by claims that he had accumulated wealth beyond his legitimate income sources.
The raids involved a team comprising five deputy superintendents of police, eight inspectors, two assistant sub-inspectors, and additional support staff, all operating under search warrants issued by the Special Judge for Vigilance in Bolangir. The locations included Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Bolangir districts.
As of 12:30 PM, the Anti-Corruption Department had uncovered four buildings, a market complex, nine high-value plots, cash amounting to Rs 6.57 lakh, 300 grams of gold, bank deposits totaling Rs 20 lakh, along with a car and two motorcycles linked to the engineer.
The officer indicated that the raids are ongoing, with expectations of discovering additional properties.
