Odisha Vigilance Discovers Massive Wealth of Block Development Officer

Significant Asset Discovery in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: On Thursday, the Odisha Vigilance team uncovered a substantial amount of disproportionate assets linked to an additional block development officer (ABDO). The findings included four buildings, five plots, and bank deposits totaling Rs 65 lakh.

The investigation was initiated based on suspicions regarding the ABDO's assets, which appeared to exceed his declared income. Vigilance officials conducted searches at seven locations across Jajpur, Cuttack, Bhadrak, and Khurda districts.

Notably, Bhubaneswar is situated within Khurda district.

During the operation, officials discovered four multi-storey buildings, including a shopping complex, a flat, five valuable plots, 700 grams of gold, Rs 65 lakh in deposits, and Rs 1.85 lakh in cash.

Additionally, two two-wheelers and household items valued at over Rs 3.27 lakh were seized during the raids.

The investigation is ongoing, according to the vigilance official.
