Arrest Made Over Fake Video Incident


Bhubaneswar: On Wednesday, Odisha's crime branch apprehended an individual for allegedly disseminating a manipulated video featuring Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on social media.


The suspect, who hails from Rayagada district, is employed at a construction firm in Tikri, according to police reports.


This arrest followed a complaint from a citizen who discovered the misleading content online, as stated by the crime branch.


The complainant asserted that the video was altered and circulated with the intent to damage the Chief Minister's reputation and mislead the public.


In response, the cybercrime unit has filed a First Information Report (FIR) and initiated an investigation into the matter.


The police have successfully requested the removal of the video from the platform.
