Odisha Man Arrested for Sharing Intimate Photos After Breakup: A Disturbing Case

In Jajpur district, Odisha, a 27-year-old man was taken into custody on Tuesday for allegedly disseminating intimate photographs of his former girlfriend on social media following their breakup, according to police reports.

The individual, Samir Kumar Palei, hails from Kabisurya Nagar in Ganjam district. His arrest came after the woman lodged a formal complaint with the authorities.

Palei, who works as an executive at a private finance firm in Jajpur, had been in a two-year relationship with a female colleague. However, the relationship ended in June when she decided to block his number, as stated in the complaint.

In retaliation, Palei posted their private photos online, which were subsequently discovered by the woman's family, prompting her to file a First Information Report (FIR) at the Panikoili police station on Monday.

Inspector-in-charge Ranjit Mohanty confirmed, "Following the complaint, we initiated a case and apprehended the accused under applicable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act."
