Tributes Paid to the Architect of the Indian Constitution

Odisha Leaders Unite to Honor Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on His Birth Anniversary


Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's birth anniversary, Odisha's Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik gathered to pay their respects.


The Governor's official Twitter account shared, "Hon'ble Governor, Shri @DrHariBabuK has paid his tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, one of the architects of the Indian Constitution, on his birth anniversary. #AmbedkarJayanti2025."


In a show of unity, leaders from the ruling BJP, opposition BJD, and Congress came together at AG Square in Bhubaneswar to honor Ambedkar by placing garlands at his statue.


Chief Minister Majhi remarked, "We paid floral tributes to Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar by garlanding his statue at AG Chowk, Bhubaneswar on the occasion of his birth anniversary. Our government adheres to Dr. Ambedkar's principles of equality."


Naveen Patnaik, the Leader of Opposition in the Odisha Assembly and BJD president, expressed on X, "Humble tribute to the architect of the Indian Constitution, Bharat Ratna Dr. #BRAmbedkar on his birth anniversary. The visionary leader and scholar was a champion of social justice throughout his life, which continues to guide the nation. He will be remembered for his lifelong efforts to uplift the underprivileged and marginalized."




OPCC president Bhakta Charan Das and other Congress leaders also paid their respects by garlanding Ambedkar's statue and holding a memorial meeting at Congress Bhawan.


Dr. Ambedkar is celebrated for his relentless fight for the empowerment of Scheduled Castes and his pivotal role in drafting the Indian Constitution.


Born into a Dalit family in 1891, he excelled academically and pursued studies abroad. The discrimination he faced in Indian society fueled his commitment to social reform.


He served as India's first law minister and passed away in 1956.
