Significant Changes in Odisha's Administrative Landscape


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha state administration has undergone a significant reshuffle at the IAS level, impacting various crucial positions throughout the region.


Chanchal Rana, who was previously the Collector of Puri, has now been appointed as the Commissioner of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC). He assumed the role of Puri Collector after the unfortunate Rath Yatra incident.


Roopa Roshan Sahoo has been designated as the Secretary to the Governor, while Sachin Ramchandra Yadav will take on the role of Secretary for the Sports and Youth Services Department. Bhupendra Singh Poonia is now the Secretary of the Skill Development and Technical Education Department.


Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar has received additional responsibilities as the RDC (Central Range). Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra has been appointed as the Principal Secretary of the Finance Department, and Hemant Sharma will also serve as the Additional Chief Secretary for the Information and Public Relations Department. Rehan Khatri has been named the Commissioner of the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation.


Bhaskar Jyoti Sharma is now the Principal Secretary of the Excise Department, while Sangram Keshari Mohapatra has taken over as the RDC (Southern Range). Bijay Kumar Das has been appointed as the Additional Secretary for the Health and Family Welfare Department.


Amrit Ruturaj will now serve as the Collector for Khordha, transitioning from Kandhamal. Divyajyoti Parida, a 2016-batch officer and former Ganjam Collector, has been appointed as the new Collector for Puri. Somesh Kumar Upadhyay will take charge as the Collector for Malkangiri, Shubhankar Mohapatra for Sundargarh, and Ashish Ishwar Patil for Dhenkanal. Keerthi Vasan V will serve as the Collector for Ganjam, Manoj Satyawan Mahajan for Koraput, and Vedbhushan for Kandhamal.
