Bhubaneswar: Over 200 athletes from 19 nations are set to compete in 20 events during the esteemed World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze, which will take place in Odisha, as announced by the state's Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Suryabanshi Suraj, on Friday.


The competition is scheduled for August 10 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.


Suraj expressed pride in hosting the World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze for the first time in Odisha, stating, "We are fully equipped to ensure a successful organization of this event."


During a review meeting, the focus was on creating a seamless experience for participants, covering everything from top-notch sporting facilities to hospitality and security measures.


The minister emphasized that careful planning is underway for athlete safety, crowd management, and police deployment.


He reassured that comprehensive administrative strategies are being implemented to facilitate the event's smooth execution.


"I am hopeful that athletes from Odisha will once again showcase their talent and make the state proud with outstanding performances in this upcoming competition," he added.
