Odisha Celebrates World Tourism Day with Statewide Promo Run for OMC Puri Coastal Marathon 2026

On World Tourism Day, Odisha experienced an extraordinary celebration of fitness, tourism, and community engagement. Thousands of residents participated in a synchronized statewide Promo Run organized by the Odisha Department of Tourism, aimed at promoting the upcoming OMC Puri Coastal Marathon 2026.

Unprecedented Participation Across the State

As per a press release, the event took place simultaneously in 32 locations across various districts and Municipal Corporations, uniting over 10,000 runners. This initiative marked a historic moment for Odisha, showcasing a collective movement towards a healthier and more active lifestyle.

For the first time, such a large-scale running event was conducted at multiple sites on the same day, coinciding with the celebration of World Tourism Day in Odisha.

Preparations for the OMC Puri Coastal Marathon 2026

This initiative also marked the first significant promotional activity leading up to the OMC Puri Coastal Marathon 2026, which is set to take place on December 13 in Puri.

The marathon aims to provide a unique sporting and tourism experience, uniting runners while highlighting Odisha's rich cultural heritage, stunning natural landscapes, beautiful coastline, warm hospitality, and the spiritual significance of Puri.

The synchronized runs across the state emphasized that running can effectively promote healthier lifestyles and raise awareness about tourism destinations and sporting events.

With the successful completion of the statewide Promo Run, Odisha has laid the groundwork for the OMC Puri Coastal Marathon 2026, gearing up to host a major running event in Puri this December.
