Upcoming Leadership Change in Odisha BJP
Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Odisha is poised to appoint a new president by July 8, as per the election timeline revealed by the party on Friday.
According to Balasore MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi, who serves as the party's state election officer, the official announcement for the presidential election will be made on July 6.
Nominations for the position will be accepted on July 7, with voting scheduled for July 8, should it be necessary.
The results, including the names of the new state president and central council member, will be disclosed on the same day.
This organizational election was previously delayed due to a tragic stampede that occurred during the Rath Yatra festival in Puri.
Insiders indicate that several prominent leaders are vying for the position, with the current president, Manmohan Samal, seeking re-election.
