BJP's Commitment to Chit Fund Investors

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha BJP president, Manmohan Samal, announced on Friday that individuals defrauded by various chit fund companies will receive their refunds within the next four months.

During a press briefing, Samal revealed that over 126,000 individuals have already been reimbursed.

"The BJP government is committed to returning funds to all victims, regardless of whether they lost Rs 10,000 or Rs 10 lakh. This pledge to refund money lost in the chit fund scandal was a key promise made during last year's assembly elections," he stated.

Samal criticized the former BJD administration for its role in the chit fund scandal, which resulted in significant financial losses for many.

"The initiative to reimburse chit fund investors is already in progress. In the past year, the BJP government has successfully returned funds to 126,137 individuals. An additional 500,000 investors will receive their full refunds within four months," he added.

He accused the previous BJD government of failing to assist investors and instead supporting Ponzi schemes.

Samal assured that individuals could reclaim their funds with minimal documentation proving their deposits.
