In a commendable display of efficiency, the Nurpur Police successfully retrieved a stolen motorcycle and arrested the individual responsible for the theft.


Details of the Theft

The incident was reported by Shamdin, a resident of Ward No. 09, Bodh (Jasur), who informed the Nurpur Police Station that his motorcycle, a Splendor Plus (PB07BE-8617), was stolen from Jasur Bazaar on the night of February 24, 2026. A formal complaint was lodged, leading to the registration of FIR No. 66/2026 under Section 303(2) BNS.


Arrest and Recovery

Taking the complaint seriously, the police initiated immediate action. During a checkpoint near Bhalakh Chowk (Gangath), officers apprehended the suspect along with the stolen motorcycle.


The suspect has been identified as Abhishek (20 years), son of Tarbiz Singh, hailing from Tippri, Post Office Banet, Tehsil Bhatiyat, District Chamba. The motorcycle has been confiscated, and legal proceedings against the suspect are currently in progress.
