The CIA unit of Nurpur Police made a significant breakthrough in their anti-drug efforts by recovering narcotics during a raid in the Dumtal region, specifically in the village of Chhanni. This operation is part of the ongoing initiative to combat drug-related issues in the Nurpur Police District.
While conducting patrols and monitoring suspicious activities in Dumtal, the CIA team executed a search warrant in a residence located in village Chhanni, as authorized under Section 41(2) of the NDPS Act. The search was performed in the presence of witnesses, adhering to all legal protocols.
During the operation, authorities discovered 12.76 grams of heroin (commonly referred to as chitta) concealed within a flower pot in one of the rooms. The individual apprehended has been identified as Babli, aged 29, the spouse of Surinder alias Jhandi, a resident of village Chhanni in Tehsil Indora, District Kangra. She has been taken into custody, and further legal actions are in progress.
A case has been filed against Babli under Section 21 of the NDPS Act at the Dumtal Police Station. Investigations are ongoing to uncover additional individuals involved in the narcotics trafficking operation.
The Superintendent of Police for Nurpur emphasized that the district police are committed to a strict 'zero tolerance' policy regarding drug trafficking, promising continued rigorous actions against offenders. The community is encouraged to report any drug-related information to the police promptly.
