Police Operation Against Drug Trafficking

The CIA unit of the Nurpur Police District has made significant strides in its fight against drug-related crimes. Recently, law enforcement apprehended an individual found in possession of a large amount of charas.


Details of the Arrested Individual:



  • Name: Ramesh Chand (40)

  • Father’s Name: Bhagat Ram

  • Residence: Village Dobhi, Sub-Tehsil Sahu, District Chamba (Himachal Pradesh)


Details of the Operation: The police operation took place near the Niyad bus stop (Post Office Gurchal, Tehsil Nurpur). Acting on a tip-off, officers stopped the suspect for questioning. A search revealed 512 grams of charas (cannabis) in his possession, which was promptly confiscated, leading to his arrest.


A case has been filed against Ramesh Chand under the applicable sections of the NDPS Act. Authorities are currently investigating to uncover the origin of the drugs and their intended destination.
