Significant Drug Seizure by Nurpur Police

In a notable operation against drug trafficking, the Nurpur Police made a significant breakthrough on January 2, 2026. Officers conducted a checkpoint at Kandwal, where they stopped a Bolero jeep (HP39C-7284) and confiscated 10.30 grams of heroin, also known as chitta.
The individuals apprehended have been identified as:
- Prabhat Singh alias Gaurav, son of Sardar Singh Rana, hailing from village & PO Rehlu, Tehsil Shahpur, District Kangra (HP).
- Avinash Patial alias Abbu, son of Savindra Singh, residing in village Chatrehad, PO & Tehsil Shahpur, District Kangra (HP).
A case has been filed against them under Sections 21, 25, 29-61-85 of the NDPS Act at the Nurpur Police Station. Both suspects have been taken into custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
