Major Drug Trafficker Arrested in Nurpur

In a significant development under the initiative known as the “Nasha Mukt Himachal Abhiyan” (Drug-Free Himachal Campaign), the Nurpur Police have made a notable arrest. Following reliable intelligence, the CIA team of Nurpur Police apprehended an interstate drug dealer from Punjab and confiscated 15.43 grams of heroin (chitta) at the Nurpur bus stand.


On July 18, 2026, while conducting patrols and monitoring for suspicious behavior, the CIA team received a tip-off regarding an individual attempting to sell drugs near the bus stand. Acting promptly on this information, they detained the suspect. A search of his bag revealed a concealed polythene packet among his clothing, containing 15.43 grams of heroin, which was sealed on-site in accordance with legal protocols.

A case has been filed against the accused under FIR No. 183/2026 at the Police Station Nurpur, in accordance with Section 21 of the ND&PS Act. He is currently in custody, and police are investigating both the source and intended recipients of the seized drugs.
