The Nurpur Police have made a significant advancement in their fight against drug trafficking, marking the fourth major arrest in just one week as part of their backward-forward linkage strategy.
Details of the Case: Under FIR No. 127/24 (Sections 21, 29 NDPS Act), the Damtal Police Station previously confiscated 262 grams of heroin. During the investigation, Rajat Kumar emerged as a co-accused.

Rajat Kumar had been declared a Proclaimed Offender (P.O.) by the Hon’ble Court in relation to FIR No. 197/20 (NDPS Act) at Police Station Damtal. He was recently apprehended in that case and was in judicial custody. Following legal protocols, the Nurpur Police obtained custody to further interrogate him regarding FIR No. 127/24, connecting him to a broader drug trafficking operation.
Criminal Background: Investigations indicate that Rajat Kumar is a repeat offender and an experienced drug trafficker, with six criminal cases filed against him in Himachal Pradesh and the adjacent Punjab region.
The accused was presented before the Hon’ble Court (Ld. JMFC, Indora), which approved a three-day police remand for thorough questioning.
