Nurpur Police Make Significant Drug Bust During Routine Patrol
Major Drug Seizure by Nurpur Police

In a significant achievement in the fight against drug trafficking, the CIA unit of the Nurpur Police District successfully executed a raid during their regular patrol and crime prevention activities.
Following a tip-off received at the Bhadroya toll barrier, officers were informed about three individuals allegedly carrying heroin near the Durga Mata Temple in Damtal. The police acted promptly, conducting a raid that led to the apprehension of the suspects, who were found with a black Splendor motorcycle (registration number PB-07-BX-5055).
Upon inspecting the motorcycle, law enforcement officials discovered 70 grams of heroin (chitta) hidden within the meter panel of the vehicle.
The individuals arrested have been identified as:
- Manab Kumar, son of Bharpur Singh, from Bhadwal, District Hoshiarpur (Punjab)
- Harjot Singh, son of Sucha Singh, from Hardo Khanpur, District Hoshiarpur (Punjab)
- Shamshoon, son of Tarsem Singh, from Laabh Nagar, District Hoshiarpur (Punjab)
The contraband was confiscated at the scene, with samples sealed for evidence, and all necessary legal protocols were followed. A case has been filed at the Damtal Police Station under various sections of the NDPS Act, including 21, 25, 29, 61, and 85. The three suspects are now in custody, and further investigations are ongoing.
The Nurpur Police have reiterated their dedication to the anti-narcotics initiative and have promised stringent actions against such illegal activities in the future.
