In a significant effort to combat illegal mining, the Nurpur Police executed rapid operations that resulted in the confiscation of various vehicles and machinery across the district.
Details of the Operation
Following ongoing surveillance and rigorous enforcement, the CIA-1 Nurpur team conducted a raid near Chakki Khad, adjacent to the Kandwal bridge, where they seized four tippers and two JCB machines linked to unauthorized mining activities. Furthermore, a tractor involved in illegal mining was confiscated in the Dhangupir area under the jurisdiction of Dumtal Police Station.
On September 23, 2026, the CIA-1 team was assigned to patrol and monitor illegal activities in the area. During their operation, they discovered unauthorized mining at Chakki Khad and promptly intervened, seizing the heavy machinery and vehicles utilized for excavation.

Legal Action
The confiscated vehicles and machinery from Kandwal have been transferred to the Kandwal Police Post for further legal action in accordance with applicable laws. Similarly, the tractor taken from Dhangupir is also undergoing legal proceedings. Challans and other necessary actions are being executed in line with the Mining Act and associated regulations.
