In a bid to combat illegal mining, the Nurpur Police District has ramped up its enforcement efforts, launching a focused operation over the last 48 hours. This initiative resulted in legal actions against a total of nine vehicles that were found in violation of mining laws.
Breakdown of Actions Taken:
- Damtal Police Station: Two multi-axle trucks were confiscated.
- Fatehpur, Jawali, Indora, and Rehan Police Stations: Seven tractors involved in illegal mining were targeted.
Legal Proceedings: The seized multi-axle trucks have been forwarded to court for further legal action, while the tractors have been fined in accordance with the Mining Act regulations.
