Significant Efforts for Asian Para Games

Nurjahan Noorali, India's top para table tennis player, is currently engaged in a pivotal international campaign, participating in four tournaments across Europe and Asia. This effort is essential for her qualification for the 2026 Asian Para Games scheduled in Japan this October.

Ranked 27th globally in Class 7 by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), Nurjahan has a clear goal as she embarks on this journey. Her campaign commenced at the ITTF World Para Challenger in Podgorica, Montenegro, from April 29 to May 2. Following this, she will compete at the ITTF World Para Challenger in Lasko, Slovenia, from May 5 to 9, then at the ITTF World Para Elite in Lasko from May 11 to 15, and will conclude her series at the ITTF World Para Elite in Taipei City, Taiwan, from May 17 to 21.

Currently positioned 8th in Asia, she aims for a Top 6 finish to secure her spot, marking this as a crucial period in her athletic career.

A Story of Determination

Nurjahan was diagnosed with polio at the age of five but made a remarkable return to competitive table tennis in 2022, showing impressive growth since then. She clinched gold at the Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) National Para Table Tennis Championships and successfully defended her title at the UTT Para Senior National Championship 2025-26 in Indore earlier this year, which elevated her to the top position in her category in India.

Corporate Support and Structured Assistance

Residing in Ahmedabad, Nurjahan is employed as a Junior Officer at Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), which has provided her with the necessary flexibility and leave to concentrate on her training and international competitions. Her preparation has been bolstered by structured support that includes guidance on tournament selection, access to expert coaching, regular performance evaluations, and financial assistance for international events, allowing her to compete consistently at elite levels.

Focus on Grit and Discipline

"This phase is vital for my qualification. With ongoing support and the right training environment, I am determined to break into the Top 6 in Asia," Nurjahan stated.

Pranav Adani, Director of Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL), remarked, "Nurjahan's journey exemplifies grit, resilience, and discipline. Her ability to juggle professional duties with sporting excellence distinguishes her. We are proud to support her as she prepares for this critical phase and strives to bring pride to our nation."

Through its 'Garv Hai' initiative, Adani Sportsline continues to empower emerging athletes with the necessary resources, exposure, and ecosystem to excel at the highest levels.

As qualification approaches, the current international circuit represents a defining moment in Nurjahan's global journey.
