Noida Police Launch Manhunt After Viral Video of SUV Driver Hitting Pedestrian

On Tuesday, authorities in Noida initiated a case against the driver of an SUV and assembled several teams to locate the individual after a video surfaced online showing the driver colliding with a pedestrian. The incident reportedly occurred in Sector 53 on Monday.
A 28-second clip gained traction on social media, depicting a man with visible injuries walking along the road while holding a brick. Suddenly, a black Mahindra Thar approached from behind and struck him, causing the man to be thrown into a nearby drain.
Police Response
The authenticity of the video has not been independently verified. According to Sumit Shukla, the additional deputy commissioner of police, "After the video went viral, we registered a case against the SUV driver at the Sector 24 police station and have formed three teams to apprehend the suspect."
The investigation revealed that a dispute had erupted between two individuals over comments made on Instagram. Subsequently, the victim, identified as 25-year-old Saurabh Yadav from Sector 48, was struck by the Thar while walking with a brick.

Authorities confirmed that the individuals involved are acquainted with each other, and the incident took place in Noida's Sector 53. The injured party is currently receiving medical treatment, and the investigation is ongoing.
Social media users expressed their concerns, with one suggesting that all Thar drivers should undergo mental fitness evaluations, while another called for swift police action against the perpetrator, emphasizing that such violent conduct is unacceptable in society.
