Increased Security Measures in Noida

In Noida, security has been significantly enhanced at the borders with Delhi as police and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel are stationed at crucial locations in anticipation of a large protest organized by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) scheduled for Saturday in the capital.

The demonstration aims to call for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, amidst claims of misconduct in election procedures.

At the Chilla border, a collaborative effort from Noida and Delhi police, along with BSF troops, has been implemented to ensure safety.

Authorities have initiated checks on vehicles deemed suspicious and are interrogating individuals as necessary, according to officials.

Security forces are closely monitoring buses, taxis, and private vehicles entering Delhi from Noida, stopping them for inspections to avert any incidents during the protest.

To bolster security, reinforced concrete barriers have been erected at the border.

Sources indicate that police may consider sealing the border around 9 PM on Friday, although this has not been officially confirmed.

Numerous social organizations, farmer union members, and political leaders in Noida have claimed that they are being placed under house arrest in the lead-up to the protest.

Sukhveer Khalifa, president of the Bhartiya Kisan Parishad, a prominent farmers' organization in Noida, expressed concerns over being confined at home with security personnel surrounding his residence, preventing him from attending the protest alongside fellow farmers.

Authorities have not responded to these claims, and attempts to reach senior officials for comments went unanswered.

In the meantime, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has announced that its services will run as per the regular weekend schedule on Saturday.

An NMRC spokesperson confirmed, "There will be no alterations to Noida Metro operations. Passenger services will proceed as usual on Saturday," addressing concerns following directives to close several Delhi Metro stations during the protest. The NMRC operates between Noida and Greater Noida, and its metro line does not extend into Delhi.
