Noida International Airport Set to Open for Passengers Next Month
Noida International Airport Opening Soon
The Noida International Airport is gearing up to welcome its first passengers next month, with the inaugural commercial flight scheduled for June 15. According to an official announcement from the airport, IndiGo will be the first airline to operate a commercial flight from this new facility. Following IndiGo, Akasa Air is expected to become the second airline to commence operations from the airport, launching its first flight on June 16.
Akasa Air's Initial Routes
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Noida International Airport on March 28. In a statement released on Monday, Akasa Air announced that it will begin daily flights connecting Noida Airport with Bengaluru and Navi Mumbai starting June 16. The airline emphasized its commitment to expanding its network from Noida Airport and enhancing both domestic and international connectivity over time. Additionally, the airport will feature a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) center operated by Akasa Air. Following these developments, Air India is also expected to announce its flight programs soon.
First Flights from Lucknow to Noida
IndiGo will initiate its services from Noida Airport with flights to Lucknow and Bengaluru. The very first flight to arrive at Noida International Airport will be from Lucknow, while the first departure will head to Bengaluru. Akasa Air has also announced plans to operate flights to Mumbai from Noida Airport. This will establish direct connections between Noida and major cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Lucknow. Subsequently, IndiGo plans to introduce direct flights from Noida to Hyderabad, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Jaipur, Navi Mumbai, Pantnagar, and Srinagar. Currently, the airport features one runway and a passenger terminal with an annual capacity of 12 million travelers. The airport is being developed in various phases.
