In an official statement released on Monday, the embassy confirmed that no Indian citizens lost their lives in the unfortunate incident that occurred on Sunday evening. This announcement follows initial unverified reports suggesting the possibility of an Indian casualty.


The embassy shared the update on the social media platform 'X', indicating that while one Indian national sustained injuries, their condition is now stable.


Details of the Incident

In a post on social media, the embassy expressed relief, stating, "It is fortunate that no Indian lives were lost in the unfortunate event that took place in Al-Kharj yesterday evening." They also mentioned that they are in contact with the relevant Saudi authorities regarding the matter.


Community Welfare Advisor Y. Sabir visited Al-Kharj on Sunday night to meet with the injured Indian citizen. The embassy reported that the individual is receiving treatment at a government hospital in Al-Kharj.


On Sunday, the Saudi Civil Defense reported that a missile struck a residential complex associated with a maintenance and cleaning company, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, including one Indian national. Additionally, a Bangladeshi citizen was also reported dead, with 12 others injured.
