Nitish Rana's Temple Visit

On Tuesday, Nitish Rana, a batter for the Delhi Capitals (DC), attended the Bhasma Aarti at the Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, offering his prayers.

Rana's Struggles in IPL 2026

This visit comes during a challenging phase for Rana in the ongoing IPL 2026 season. In the three matches he has played, he has accumulated only 20 runs, which includes a duck.

In the opening match against the Lucknow Super Giants, Rana scored 15 runs off 17 balls. He then faced a disappointing three-ball duck against the Mumbai Indians, where he was run out.

Despite his batting woes, DC secured victories in both of those matches. However, in his third outing, Rana managed just five runs off six balls, contributing to a narrow one-run defeat for his team.

He missed the subsequent match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), with Ashutosh Sharma stepping in for him in the playing eleven. DC suffered their second loss of the season against CSK.

Delhi Capitals' Current Standing

So far in the tournament, DC has played four matches, winning two and losing two. They currently sit in fifth place on the IPL 2026 points table, with four points and a Net Run Rate (NRR) of +0.322.

Recent Match Highlights Against CSK

In their latest match against CSK, a remarkable century from Sanju Samson and a four-wicket haul by Jamie Overton led CSK to their first victory of IPL 2026, defeating DC by 23 runs at Chepauk Stadium.

Batting first, CSK posted a total of 212/2 in 20 overs, thanks to Samson's explosive 115* off 56 balls, which included 15 fours and four sixes, along with Ayush Mhatre's 59 off 36 balls.

In response, DC's Pathum Nissanka scored 41 runs off 24 balls, forming a 62-run partnership with KL Rahul, while Tristan Stubbs contributed a quick 60 off 30 balls. However, consistent wickets from Overton (4/18) and Kamboj (3/35) stifled DC's chase.
