Nitish Kumar Remains Engaged in Bihar's Development Post Chief Ministership
Nitish Kumar's Continued Involvement in Bihar's Progress
On Monday, Nitish Kumar, the president of the JD(U), informed party legislators that he would continue to oversee development initiatives in Bihar even after stepping down from the chief minister's position a week ago. Speaking at a meeting of the legislative party at 1, Aney Marg, the official residence of the chief minister where he has lived for nearly two decades, Kumar emphasized his commitment to the state's progress.
After the meeting, JD(U) MLC and spokesperson Neeraj Kumar shared with reporters that Kumar plans to spend most of his time in Bihar, except during parliamentary sessions where his presence is mandatory.
Neeraj Kumar further elaborated that Kumar aims to ensure that the positive initiatives undertaken during his tenure continue under the new government, where JD(U) remains a key ally. He will periodically visit the state to monitor the situation.
The main spokesperson confirmed that a formal resolution has been passed, granting Nitish Kumar the authority to make final decisions. He highlighted the deep gratitude expressed by all party members for Kumar's governance, leadership, and the recognition Bihar has received on both national and international platforms.
Neeraj Kumar stated that the national president, Nitish Kumar, has been given the authority to select the new leader of the legislative party. The legislators unanimously expressed their appreciation for his contributions and achievements. During the meeting, Kumar also indicated that he would remain actively involved in Bihar's political landscape by touring various regions with party leaders while fulfilling his parliamentary responsibilities.
He mentioned that his goal is to stay closely connected with organizational matters and the progress of government initiatives. Addressing speculations about internal disagreements, Neeraj Kumar firmly denied any disputes within the party, asserting that there was absolutely no conflict. He reiterated that the party's name itself signifies 'unity.' He clarified that no specific names were discussed during the meeting and reiterated that the authority to choose a leader rests solely with Nitish Kumar. Interestingly, the lack of immediate decisions has fueled political speculation. The proposal to appoint Kumar as the leader was presented by Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and received unanimous support.
