Nitin Nabin Assumes Leadership of BJP

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the BJP headquarters in the national capital to meet with Nitin Nabin and his family, following Nabin's election as the new party president. During this event, PM Modi shared sweets with Nabin. The gathering also included prominent figures such as Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and JP Nadda.


 


Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, along with other BJP leaders including Tripura's Chief Minister Manik Saha, Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Uttarakhand's Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, and Rajasthan's Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, extended their congratulations to Nitin Nabin. Today marked Nabin's formal assumption of the role of National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Addressing party leaders and workers at the headquarters, Nabin emphasized that he is not just taking on a position but embracing the ideology, traditions, and responsibilities of the party's nationalist movement. He expressed gratitude towards senior leaders and PM Modi, highlighting the collective efforts of 140 million Indians working towards a developed India.




Nabin stated, 'This moment is a pledge for me. I am not merely taking charge today. I am accepting the ideology, traditions, and responsibilities of this party's nationalist movement, and I pay tribute to all my senior colleagues on this occasion... Today, 140 million Indians are connecting with the dream of a developed India and working to advance the nation. For this, I sincerely thank the Prime Minister.'


 


Nitin Nabin is a seasoned politician who has served five terms in the Bihar Legislative Assembly and has previously held ministerial positions in the Bihar government. He is well-known for his organizational skills and administrative experience. Born on May 23, 1980, in Ranchi, Jharkhand, Nabin entered electoral politics at a young age, first being elected to the Bihar Assembly from the Patna West constituency in 2006. Since 2010, he has been continuously elected from the Bankipur constituency, winning in 2010, 2015, 2020, and 2025, thus becoming a five-time MLA. He has also managed significant departments such as Road Construction, Urban Development and Housing, and Law as a cabinet minister in the Bihar government.
