India's Medal Achievements
India secured an impressive fourth place in the overall medal tally at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, amassing a total of 85 medals: 21 gold, 27 silver, and 37 bronze. The event showcased several remarkable performances, including gold medal victories in cricket, kabaddi, and hockey. Additionally, Indian athletes earned spots for the LA 2028 Olympics and achieved numerous record-breaking feats.
Highlighting Women's Contributions
The contributions of female athletes were particularly noteworthy, with standout performances from Lovlina Borgohain, Kumkum Mohod, Neeru Dhanda, Pranavi Urs, and members of the women's hockey, cricket, kabaddi, and athletics teams.
Reliance Foundation's Role
The Reliance Foundation played a significant role in India's success, contributing to 29 of the country's medals. A total of 48 athletes backed by the Foundation represented India at the Asian Games, and the Foundation proudly sponsored Team India.
Asian Games 2026 Medal Overview
India's 85 medals marked its second-best performance at the Asian Games, following the record of 106 medals achieved in Hangzhou in 2023, where the country won 28 gold medals. China led the medal standings in Aichi-Nagoya with 341 medals, including 169 gold, while Japan, the host nation, secured 269 medals, with 83 gold. South Korea finished third with a total of 150 medals, including 39 gold.
