Nicholas Pooran's Rare Display of Anger

Nicholas Pooran is typically recognized for his explosive batting style, but he is also known for his calm demeanor. Rarely does he show anger, but during a recent match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he lost his temper with a teammate, causing quite a stir in the dressing room. A video capturing his outburst has since gone viral on social media. In a fit of rage, he slammed his gloves onto the ground.

This incident occurred during the 20th over of Lucknow Super Giants' innings. At that moment, Pooran and Abdul Samad were at the crease, while Nitish Reddy was bowling. The first ball of the over had already yielded 8 runs. On the second delivery, Pooran attempted to take two runs but slipped while turning back. Consequently, Samad sent him back, which infuriated Pooran, who had already scored 45 runs off just 26 balls.

On the third ball of the over, Pooran attempted to run for a bye, but Ishan Kishan was ready and managed to run him out. Upon returning to the dressing room, Pooran pushed a sofa in frustration and slammed his gloves down in anger. The atmosphere became so tense that Shardul Thakur had to step in to calm him down.

Pooran was once a frontrunner for the Orange Cap in IPL 2025, having scored 359 runs, including four half-centuries, in his first six innings. However, his performance has declined recently, as he has failed to score a fifty in his last six innings. Overall, he has accumulated 455 runs in 12 innings this season.
