NIA Conducts Raids Linked to Babbar Khalsa International in Punjab and Haryana

NIA Raids Multiple Locations in Punjab and Haryana
On Thursday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) executed a series of raids across Punjab and Haryana targeting various locations associated with the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist organization. According to an official statement, these operations were conducted in connection with a grenade attack that occurred at a police station in Amritsar district in January 2025. The raids took place at 15 different sites, including Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Firozpur, Pathankot, Kapurthala, and Rupnagar in Punjab, as well as Sirsa in Haryana.
The NIA's statement detailed that during the searches, several objectionable materials were seized, including mobile and digital devices, along with documents. These items are currently under investigation to uncover further details about the BKI's terrorist network.
Criminal Conspiracy Uncovered
The agency revealed that BKI has been involved in a criminal conspiracy aimed at recruiting and training associates within India. Additionally, they have been providing financial support, weapons, and explosives to regional operatives through contacts based in Pakistan and other foreign locations. The ultimate goal of this conspiracy is to execute large-scale terrorist attacks on Indian soil.
