NIA Conducts Raids and Makes Arrests

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out extensive searches at four locations in Puducherry, including a central prison, on Thursday, leading to the arrest of two suspects linked to the 2023 Villianur bombing and murder case.


According to a statement from the NIA, the arrested individuals have been identified as Heram, also known as Karthi or TR, and Udaykumar, referred to as Kumar. They were apprehended for allegedly leaking sensitive information, including the names of protected witnesses and other critical details.


This case pertains to the brutal murder of Senthil Kumaran, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) official, in Villianur in 2023. On the night of March 26 that year, around 9:30 PM, six assailants on motorcycles attacked the victim with a homemade bomb before stabbing him multiple times.
